Proven Experience

Kate has served on the Port Angeles City Council for the past 7 years, including four as Mayor.

As Mayor, Kate has represented Port Angeles at the State, National, and International level, and developed strong partnerships with local governments, nonprofits, and community partners.

Within this role she has served on Clallam County Law & Justice Committee, Feiro Marine Life Center, the Utility Advisory Committee, Clallam Transit, Lauridsen Trust, and Clallam County Disability Board. She has also represented council on issues such as the municipal judicial services contract with Clallam County.

Kate’s passion for helping those around her is what brought her to the table. She has the proven ability to effectively address the issues facing our neighbors and to deliver results for our community.

Kate has experienced firsthand the critical challenges facing Port Angeles, including the housing and childcare shortages, public safety concerns, and the need for more living wage jobs. These pressing issues demand urgent and effective action to enhance the quality of life for all residents.
